This is an electronic/ambient album that makes use of the MSX home computer's sound chip.

The empetus for Stowed Under stretches back to 2011-2012; at that point in time, I was working on a video game with a couple of friends (the project didn't go anywhere), and I had decided to compose music for it. Aside from coming up with a couple of covers and vague ideas using Famitracker (a program that allows for composition using the Nintendo Entertainment System sound chip), I didn't make any progress, and we eventually abandoned the project altogether.

In 2014, however, I decided to take another actual shot at composing (not with a DAW, but with music notation software and a program that played MIDI files with the MSX sound font), and I pumped out a half-dozen records, mostly centered around repeating melodies in the same vein as old-school video game music, and sometimes experimenting with sampling and the such. At the end of 2014, I took the best material from all these releases, remastered it, and made a new record, titled Stowed Under.

Stowed Under contains covers of songs by Steve Roach, Justice, Brian Eno (with Daniel Lanois & Roger Eno), and Boards of Canada.
