This is an electronic/ambient album that makes use of the MSX home computer's sound chip.
This record has come out in 2015, but some of the material stretches back to very early 2014, and has been planned since 2011-2012. Originally, my intent was to compose music for a video game I had worked on with a few friends, but aside from some vague ideas, I had made little progress. In 2014, however, I decided to take an actual shot at composing (not even with a DAW, but with music notation software and a program that played MIDI files with the MSX sound font), and I pumped out a half-dozen records with very little quality control. At the end of 2014, I decided to take the best material from all of these albums, remaster it, and make a new release out of it: the result is Stowed Under. Since the music of this record was composed with that game in mind, they very much have a VGM vibe to them.
Stowed Under contains covers of songs by Steve Roach, Justice, Brian Eno (with Daniel Lanois & Roger Eno), and Boards of Canada.
